This is the SPANKTHENUN update of the classic industrial dance floor smash hit VIRUS by legendary rockers KMFDM.
The guys from SPANKTHENUN put their touch on the classic track, adding new energy and bringing us different versions of the song.
The first version is very true to the original with some updated sounds and production that pumps new life into an older track.
In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic and world wide lock down, the boys have taken the liberty of updating the lyrics in a new version, called the COVID version.
Original lyrics place the theme in the late 80s and commenting on the sexually transmitted diseases of the time.
The updated version references directly to the COVID pandemic with lyrics like “Keep six feet away or you’ll die!” and “Its gonna come back for a year or longer, you ignored the truth and made it stronger.” A nice homage to a favorite track, done with care and reverence for the original.
SPANKTHENUN also adds an instrumental version of the track as well as new reimaging of the track with new beats, music and arrangement.
