AMPHI FESTIVAL 2019 MIT IN EXTREMO UND VIELEN MEHR!
Kinder der Nacht, wo ist die Zeit geblieben?! Gerade noch hatten wir die Idee ein Open-Air Festival ins Leben zu rufen und zack, jährt sich jene schwarzbunte fünfte Jahreszeit zum 15 Male.
Das erfüllt uns, als Organisatoren, mit Stolz und euch mit vielen unvergesslichen Erinnerungen und großer Vorfreude auf das nächste Amphi Festival am 20. & 21.07.2019 im Kölner Tanzbrunnen.
Nach der Neuigkeit um die Rückkehr von NITZER EBB und einem echten Rekordstart der Early-Bird-Tickets, die innerhalb weniger Stunden vergriffen waren, heißt es heute Vorhang auf und Bühne frei für das erste große Programmpaket mit folgenden Künstlern:

Jekyll und Hyde, Romantiker und Feldherr – bei Thomas Rainer ist der Kontrast Programm! Ob als oberster Kommandant der NACHTMAHR-Armee oder an der Seite von Ausnahmesängerin Sonja Kraushofer bei L’ÂME IMMORTELLE – hier ballt sich die Kompetenz aus über 20 Jahren Live-Erfahrung – die meisten davon an vorderster Front als Österreichs erfolgreichster Szene-Export – und erstmals seit 2008 wieder im Doppelpack auf dem Amphi Festival! Macht euch bereit!
A-propos Dualität: den mythologisch begründeten Inbegriff des Zweigesichts liefern natürlich JANUS! Das lang ersehnte Comeback von Dirk Riegert und Tobias Hahn auf dem Amphi Festival 2014 glich einem Donnerschlag! Gleich zweifach spielten sie vor den voll besetzten Rängen des Theater ihr Set im Akustik-Jazzrock-Gewand. Aber Janus wären nicht Janus, hätten sie nicht bereits wieder neue Pläne geschmiedet, um eine weitere Facette ihres Schaffens zu präsentieren! Erwartet das Unerwartete!
Um energiegeladene Shows war auch Erk Aicrag noch nie verlegen. Der quirlige Mexikaner gibt stets Vollgas und begeistert immer wieder aufs Neue durch seine temperamentvollen Auftritte. Mit RABIA SORDA vereint er inzwischen harte Electrobeats und knackigen Industrial-Rock zu einem energiegeladenen Ganzen, das auf dem Rhein fraglos Wellen schlagen wird!
PINK TURNS BLUE, deren Ursprünge im Rheinland des Jahres 1985 zu finden sind, bewegen sich gekonnt im magischen Dreieck aus Indiepop, Wave- und Postpunk-Einflüssen. Außergewöhnliche Akkorde – zeitloser Zauber! Wir freuen uns sehr diesen Klassiker um Mastermind Mic Jogwer erstmals auf dem Amphi Festival begrüßen zu dürfen.
Ebenfalls zum ersten Mal ins Amphi-Programm gesellt sich die neue Synth-Supergroup SEADRAKE um Sänger Hilton Theissen (Akanoid), Mathias Thürk (ex-Minerve) und Rickard Gunnarsson (Lowe, Statemachine). Für alle die es eine Spur düsterer bevorzugen, kommt mit FÏX8:SËD8 ein herrlicher Slasher auf euch zu! Das Wiesbadener Projekt um Martin Sane vereint Einflüsse großer Electropioniere (wie FLA, Skinny Puppy und Placebo Effect) zu einem teuflisch-wuchtigen Stilmix.
Veni Vidi Vici könnte dagegen der Wahlspruch von MASSIVE EGO lauten. 2017 eroberten die schillernden Briten das Amphi im Sturm und hinterließen bei vielen von euch bleibenden Eindruck! Euer Wunsch ist uns daher gerne Befehl! Freut euch auf ein Wiedersehen mit Marc Massive & Co. im Juli 2019!
Bei den WHITE LIES steht derzeit alles im Zeichen der Zahl “Fünf”. Ihr kürzlich erschienenes Album “FIVE” verbindet einmal mehr schmissigen Wave-Rock der Stadionliga mit vielen Einflüssen der 80er von Synthpop bis Post-Punk – verpackt in ein hymnenhaftes Gesamtpaket mit der charismatische Stimme Harry McVeighs. Das ist kein Big TV, das ist großes Kino!
Mit cineastischer Opulenz warten ihrerseits auch COMA ALLIANCE auf. Breitwandsounds mit wuchtig-apokalyptischer Note zwischen düsterem Tanzbrett und vertrackten Kompositionen aus der Feder von keinen Geringeren als Adrian Hates (Diary of Dreams) und Torben Wendt (Diorama), die mit COMA ALLIANCE vor Kurzem ihrer seit vielen Jahren bestehenden Freundschaft und Zusammenarbeit ein würdevolles musikalisches Gefäß geschaffen haben.
Wenn man an Italien denkt, denkt man zumeist an Sonne und Dolce Vita – die mediterrane Lebensart. ASH CODE hingegen zelebrieren in ihren Songs das Abgründige. Monochrom-kühle, dem Post-Punk nicht abgeneigte, Synth-Klänge angestiftet von einer Welt, die unter der Asche der Menschheit zu ersticken droht. Treibend, fordernd, innovativ!
Der Name Marc Ziegler, alias SEELENNACHT, dürfte insbesondere Blutengel Fans ein Begriff sein. Aus den ersten musikalischen Schritten von einst ist inzwischen ein prächtiges Gesamtwerk geworden, dessen Stärken sich in dem vor Kurzem erschienenen Album “Gedankenrelikt” eindrucksvoll bündeln. Ein wunderbares Highlight für Fans des dunkelromantischen Electropops, dessen umwegloser Drang ins Tanzbein und kompromisslose Eingängigkeit mitzureißen verstehen.

Children of the night, how time flies! Just a moment ago we had the idea of bringing an open-air festival to life and bang, fifteen years later the same colorfully black fifth season celebrates its 15th anniversary.

Jekyll and Hyde, romanticist and field commander. With Thomas Rainer contrast is programme! Whether as supreme commander of the NACHTMAHR army or alongside exceptional vocalist Sonja Kraushofer in L’ÂME IMMORTELLE – it is impossible to overlook the massive competence of over 20 years worth of stage-experience – most of them at the very forefront as Austria’s most requested scene-export. For the first time since 2008 we will even have a double-feature at Amphi Festival with both bands performing shows! Don’t miss it!
As we speak of duality: the mythologically founded epitome of the term two-face is of course being delivered by JANUS! The long anticipated comeback of Dirk Riegert and Tobias Hahn during Amphi Festival 2014 struck like thunder! They even played twice in front of a fully packed Theater, presenting their set in an acoustic-jazzrock outfit at that time. But JANUS would not be JANUS without already having a new gameplan prepared to reveal another engaging facet of their creative output! Expect the unexpected!
Erk Aicrag has never been shy of an energy-pumped show as well! The effervescent Mexican always goes all-in and excites audiences around the globe with his vivacious appearance. Within the musical confines of RABIA SORDA he currently merges electro beats and gripping industrial-rock into an electrifying symbiosis which, without question, is destined to create some serious stir at the Rhine!
PINK TURNS BLUE, whose origin roots in the Rhine-area of the year 1985, masterfully dwells the charming trinity of indiepop, wave- and postpunk influences. Uncoventional chords – timeless magic! We are very happy and honored to welcome this classic, lead by Mic Jogwer, for the first time ever at Amphi Festival.
Also for the first time the new synth supergroup SEADRAKE consisting of singer Hilton Theissen (Akanoid), Mathias Thürk (ex-Minerve) and Rickard Gunnarsson (Lowe, Statemachine) joins the Amphi line-up. For those among you who like it a tad bit darker, there is a sinister electro-slasher coming for you in the shape and body of FÏX8:SËD8! The project from Wiesbaden, as written and conceived by Martin Sane, melts influences of great electronic pioneers such as FLA, Skinny Puppy and Placebo Effect into a devilishly haunting blend.
Veni,vidi,vici might be the fitting slogan vor MASSIVE EGO! In 2017 the shimmering Brits conquered Amphi by storm and left a sustaining impression in many of you! Rightfully so, your wish is our command! Look forward to a new encounter with Marc Massive & Co. in July 2019!
For WHITE LIES currently everything’s centering around the figure “five”. Their recently released fifth album titled “FIVE” once more combines dashing stadium-class wave-rock with many influences from the 80s between synthpop and post-punk building up to a hymnic overall package topped by the distinctive voice Harry McVeigh’s. White Lies are more than just a Big TV, they go for the grand cinema!
Theatrical opulence is something COMA ALLIANCE wait on with as well – however in a completely different style. Widescreen sounds with a massive apocalyptic tone between dark dance smashers and intricate compositions from the quill of nobody less than Adrian Hates (Diary of Dreams) and Torben Wendt (Diorama), who recently shaped this graceful musical vessel together, focusing their long-term friendship and recurring loose collaborations into a full joint-forces project.
When you think of Italy, some of your most instant associations might head towards sunny days and dolce vita – the Mediterranean lifestyle. ASH CODE in their songs, however, commemorate the abysmal. Look forward to monochromatic, chilling synth-sounds in close league with a post-punkish feel, incited by a world threatening to choke under the ashes of mankind. A driving, demanding and innovative force!
The name Marc Ziegler, a.k.a. SEELENNACHT might particularly be known to Blutengel fans already. The impressive early musical steps from back in the days meanwhile evolved into a gorgeous complete work, which condensed all of its strenghts on the recently released album “Gedankenrelikt”. Expect a wonderful highlight for fans of darkromantic electro-pop, whose unrestrained rush for the dancefloor hooks you up with striking catchiness.
